IMPORTANT NOTICES:

New Taiwan regulations:
Taiwan currently requires 14-day home quarantine for all travelers who have transited through China, Hong Kong, or Macau. In accordance with Taiwan regulations, AIT will not permit entry to individuals subject to quarantine until the 14-day period has ended. Please schedule visa appointments accordingly.

Urgent information for visa applicants regarding novel coronavirus:
Any individuals with pending consular appointments who (1) were physically present within the People’s Republic of China, excluding the Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macau, within the last 14 days, (2) are experiencing flu-like symptoms, or (3) believe they have may have been exposed to the novel coronavirus, are strongly encouraged to postpone their appointments by at least 14 days.  There is no fee to change an appointment and visa application fees are valid for one year in the country where the fee was paid. New Work Visa Reciprocity Fees:
Please note that effective December 11, 2019, Taiwan passport holders applying for H, L, and R visas may be required to pay an additional fee before a visa can be issued.  This is due to changes to the Taiwan reciprocity schedule.  L visa applicants should also note that the maximum visa validity period that can be issued to Taiwan passport holders has changed to 36 months.  For more information about visa fees, including when and how to pay them, click here.

New Exchange Rate:
AIT will change its consular exchange rate from US$1=NT$32 to US$1=NT$31 effective November 10, 2019.
All applicants for nonimmigrant visas who pay the visa processing fee on or after November 10 must pay at the new exchange rate.
Applicants who paid the visa processing fee at the previous exchange rate on or before November 9 may still use their receipt within one year.
